Ingredients:
- 6 ripe bananas
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Oven
- Baking Sheet
- Knife
- Dehydrator (optional)
- Mixing Bowl
Instructions:
- Firstly, the heat required for the process is 200 degrees Fahrenheit or 93 degrees Celsius.
- Peel the bananas and cut them into thin rounds – about 1/8 of an inch thick.
- To make the marinade, mix in a bowl, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon and salt.
- Tilt the baking sheet slightly and use the marinade to lightly fold the banana slices in it.
- Put the banana slices neatly on a baking tray and ensure it has a layer of parchment paper on it.
- Coat the banana slices lightly with the melted coconut oil to improve the taste and to avoid their sticking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, turn the slices over half way through cooking, until golden and crispy.
- However, if using a dehydrator, set to 135F/ 57C and dehydrate for approximately 6-8 hrs until crispy.
- It is best to allow it to cool for sometime before serving or else store it in a cool place.
