Ingredients:

  • 6 ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Knife
  • Dehydrator (optional)
  • Mixing Bowl

Instructions:

  • Firstly, the heat required for the process is 200 degrees Fahrenheit or 93 degrees Celsius.
  • Peel the bananas and cut them into thin rounds – about 1/8 of an inch thick.
  • To make the marinade, mix in a bowl, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon and salt.
  • Tilt the baking sheet slightly and use the marinade to lightly fold the banana slices in it.
  • Put the banana slices neatly on a baking tray and ensure it has a layer of parchment paper on it.
  • Coat the banana slices lightly with the melted coconut oil to improve the taste and to avoid their sticking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, turn the slices over half way through cooking, until golden and crispy.
  • However, if using a dehydrator, set to 135F/ 57C and dehydrate for approximately 6-8 hrs until crispy.
  • It is best to allow it to cool for sometime before serving or else store it in a cool place.
