Cheesy Rice Delight

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of long-grain rice
  • 6 cups of water
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • large pot
  • wooden spoon
  • measuring cups
  • grater
  • baking dish
  • oven

Instructions:

  • To start with, in a large pot add 6 cups of water and bring to boil.
  • Stir in the rice to the boiling water and let it simmer for roughly 15-20 minutes or until soft. Drain any excess water.
  • To the cooked rice add butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper in the same pot. Stir well to combine.
  • Finally add the cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese stirring until the cheese have melted and the rice uniformly coated.
  • Spoon the cheesy rice mixture into a greased baking dish and level it.
  • First of all, you should turn on the oven at a temperature in-between 175°C and 350°F.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the top of the dish is golden and there is a layer of cheese on the surface, bubbly.
  • Take from the oven and let it stand for about 10 minutes before proceeding with serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
