Schooling activities in the Western Province for students appearing for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination this year will commence from today (25).
School disinfection activities in the Western Province, which are opening today, were carried out yesterday (24) under the leadership of Public Health Inspectors.
This year’s GCE Ordinary Level Examination is scheduled to commence on March 1 and schools in the Western Province will be reopened for GCE Ordinary Level examinations, said Provincial Director of Education Sri Lal Nonis.
With the commencement of the new school term, all schools except the Western Province and the isolated areas were reopened to normal operations.
Meanwhile, permission has been granted to conduct tuition classes in areas other than the Western Province from today.
It is reported that permission has been granted to conduct these classes following the health guidelines prescribed by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena.
